DFSS grew out of Six Sigma soil — statistical and quantitative to the bone. It defines metrics first, then uses data to close in on them, and it's unbeatable at making a clearly-stated target rock-solid robust. Design Thinking walked out of Stanford's d.school and IDEO, convinced the answer lives inside the user — empathize, diverge, prototype rough, test fast. It's the method for the fog at the start, when you haven't even framed the right question yet. TRIZ is what Soviet engineer Genrich Altshuller distilled after combing through hundreds of thousands of patents — a structured set of inventive principles for when you're stuck on a technical "have your cake and eat it" contradiction. Lining them up to crown a winner is like asking whether a screwdriver, wrench, or pliers is best — the kind of fastener decides which tool to grab.

方法选型:先判断问题类型(指标型 / 模糊型 / 矛盾型),再决定主力方法,别拿锤子找钉子。 Pick by problem type: classify the problem first — metric-driven, fuzzy, or contradiction — then choose the lead method. Don't go looking for nails because all you have is a hammer.
互补而非替代:很多成熟团队同时用三者 —— 设计思维找需求、TRIZ 破矛盾、DFSS 保稳健。 Complementary, not interchangeable: mature teams routinely run all three — Design Thinking to surface the need, TRIZ to crack the contradiction, DFSS to lock in robustness.

把 DFSS、设计思维、TRIZ 摆成擂台分高下,是个常见但危险的误会。 它们解的根本不是同一类问题:DFSS 假设你已经知道要什么,帮你做到极致稳; 设计思维假设你还不知道要什么,帮你把问题问对; TRIZ 假设你卡在一个具体的技术矛盾上,帮你跳出妥协。 所以「该用哪个」永远是个伪命题,真正的问题是「我此刻面对的,是模糊的需求、技术的死结,还是明确的指标」。 雷达图上每种方法都有自己鼓起来的那一块,也都有塌下去的那一块 —— 没有全能选手。 成熟团队的做法,是在一条创新路径的不同阶段让不同方法各就各位(这正是下一页整合路径要讲的)。 唯一要警惕的是:别因为只会用其中一种,就硬把所有问题都掰成它的样子。 Staging DFSS, Design Thinking, and TRIZ as a cage match is a common but dangerous misread. They simply don't solve the same kind of problem: DFSS assumes you already know what you want and helps you make it bulletproof; Design Thinking assumes you don't yet know what you want and helps you frame the right question; TRIZ assumes you're stuck on a specific technical contradiction and helps you escape the compromise. So "which one should I use?" is always the wrong question. The real one is "is what I'm facing right now a fuzzy need, a technical deadlock, or a measurable target?" Every method has its bulge on the radar and its hollow — there is no all-rounder. What mature teams do is give each method its rightful seat at the right phase of the innovation path (which is exactly what the next page on integration covers). The one thing to watch out for: don't hammer every problem into the shape of the only method you happen to know.
